Analysis of the perception of nature in artworks and its relationship with dreams in the context of the historical process

This study examines the ways in which nature, one of the most fundamental sources of inspiration for art, meets and diverges from human beings in the context of the historical process through the art of painting. The aim of this study is to explore how the human experience of nature is linked to the concepts of dream within the framework of art history. In the history of art, nature has been understood not only as a physical environment, but also as an imaginary and symbolic environment that reveals the depths of the human soul. Dreams as a reflection of the subconscious will add more meaning to the representation of nature. This paper explores ways of imagining nature and dreams together to understand the ways in which they intersect and relate as representations of human beliefs and behaviors, from narratives in ancient mythology to contemporary art. While in early modern times nature was often represented as a divine force and mystical realm, by the Renaissance observation allowed for more realistic representations of nature. However, movements such as Romanticism and Surrealism treated nature as a reflection, symbol or expression of the unconscious. As a result, dreams allowed artists to imagine nature in a more abstract and symbolic way. The study also considers the place of nature and dream themes in the historical trajectory of art and how the two can interact.
