Nyctophobia as a creative element in art

Art is all the 'things' that are embodied by blending the most intricate and extreme points of human emotions/imagination with talent and creativity. Every artistic production is loaded with a meaning that is influenced by these emotional and imaginary phenomena. When the formation and purposes of these meanings are taken into consideration, the underlying triggering element/s are encountered. The science of psychology, which examines human emotions/thoughts and makes use of the human mind and behavior while doing these, is one of the factors of existence of art. Art is not only a form of production, but also a discipline that includes many areas. Then, emotions/situations in art are indispensable elements like other elements. In addition, art is the mirror and summary of the society and culture in which it exists. When considered artist-centered, it can be said that each designed work is an indicator of the feelings, dreams and socio-cultural life of the artist who designed it. The element of fear, which can be one of the artist's emotions, can also be the artist's means of production/design. Nyctophobia, one of the sub-topics of the emotion of fear, can be a creative element in producing artistic works like other emotions or types of fear. Each work designed by the artist in the light of Bauillard's simulacrum and simulation theorems is a reflection of his own fictional world. Works that benefit from sculpture, digital art, painting, cinema, kinetic art, interactive art, installation art and psychology have been the subject of this thesis. In order to explain the subject, it was deemed necessary to examine the relationship between psychology and art in a theoretical sense, as well as to define and interpret applied arts and examine them through sample works. The thesis consists of a screening model as well as a trial model. It has been observed that 'nyctophobia' is a creative element in art with the artist's application studies and interpretations designed in this context.
