Abstract (EN)

The subject of art production and consumption has been preoccupying society for centuries. It has been produced and consumed in many different tools and environments until today's digital age. Technology has also given new spaces and tools to art. With the developed blockchain technology, it has been ensured that works of art are recorded on the blockchain as digital data. Thus, the concepts of NFT and crypto art have been introduced to the modern art world. In addition to the fact that crypto arts, which are digital art, cannot be reproduced and imitated, as well as the fact that the exchange of works of art is accessible and easy, crypto art has become popular in the art world. The article examines how the postmodern understanding, which is also dominant in crypto art, was formed and the effects of digitalization and technology on the art world. The concepts of cryptology, blockchain and NFT, which influence the formation of the concept of crypto art, are explained. Analyses have been made about the development of crypto art up to today, predictions have been made about its future position. Along with examples of crypto art works, the technological, economic, social and cultural dimensions of crypto art have been examined within the framework of cultural theories. In the thesis, it was concluded that the meaning of art has changed along with crypto art, and economic meaning is at the forefront rather than aesthetic meaning. Due to the fact that crypto artworks can be produced and consumed quickly and easily, they are seen as a consumer object rather than art, and it has been claimed that this meaning will continue in the future. Key Words : Crypto Art, NFT, Digital Art, Postmodernism
