The investigation of the repair parameters of sandwich composites

In this study, the effects of change in repair parameters of sandwich composites on post-repair strength were investigated numerically and experimentally. Afterwards, new patch type studies were performed to increase the strength values after repair by keeping these parameters constant. The main approach in the patch methods to be developed is to make fiber reinforcement in the inner surface of the sandwich composite damaged part so as not to disrupt the integrity of the composite structure and to make the repair process easy to apply. As a result of the study, the effects of repair parameters of sandwich composites on the materials post-repair strength were determined and the effects of patch thickness and overlap length on material strength were shown experimentally and numerically. Finally, with the new developed patch methods, the material post repair strength is significantly improved.
