Abstract (EN)

Renewable energy sources are energy sources that not only help to meet the ever-increasing energy needs and ensure energy supply security, but also minimize the destruction of the environment and nature. Therefore, today, countries are constantly trying to develop renewable energy sources. In this study, the solar energy potential of Sarıcakaya district of Eskişehir province and the biogas energy potential, which is a product of biomass energy, were evaluated. With 28.200 photovoltaic panels with 385 Wp power to be installed in Sarıcakaya district, the electrical energy potential that can be produced according to the annual sunshine duration is approximately 25.905 MW/year. If the efficiency of the installed photovoltaic system is approximately 72%, the annual electrical energy production that can be used is calculated as 18.650 MW/year. It has been calculated that 1,109,951 m3-CH4 methane gas can be produced with the animal waste that Sarıcakaya district can obtain from animal existence in 2021, and 3,884 MWhe electrical energy can be produced with the produced methane gas. The electrical energy that can be produced with both renewable energy sources in Sarıcakaya corresponds to 265.1% of the annual electricity consumption of the district. In addition, it has been calculated that 22,535 MWh/year electrical energy that can be produced with both renewable energy sources can prevent carbon dioxide emissions up to 23,222 tons/CO2 compared to other energy sources.
