Abstract (EN)

In this study, trace element distribution and environmental effects of coal mining units of Isparta province, Şarkikaraağaç (Isparta) province were investigated according to well data of '71,105,114 '. In the XRD analyzes made by the coal units, according to the semi-quantitative abundances in coal samples; it is detected that there are calcite, aragonite, quartz, pyrite, dolomite, clay minerals, feldspar group minerals (K-feldspar, K-Na feldspar), cristobalite ankerite, mica group minerals (biotite, muscovite), marcasite, hematite, gypsum, talc, siderite. What the clay minerals of the coal samples detected in this area are; smectite, illite, kaolinite (halloysite, kaolinite), chlorite, paligoskite, mixed layered clay minerals. The most abundant clay minerals were illite, smectite and kaolinite. It has been detected that rock samples of the region have similar mineral composition. As a result of ICP- MS analyzes, Major elements found in coal in the basin; Si, Al, Fe, Mg, Ca, K, Ti, P, Cr elements give results over the world coals avarage. The presence of trace elements such as Sc, V, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn, Ga, As, Se, Rb, Sr, Y, Zr, Nb, Mo, Cs, Ba, Er, Yb, Hf, W, U in coal have yielded higher results than standard limits in world coal. According to the groupings of Swaine and Goodarzi made in 1995, it is observed that the values of the trace elements that are harmful to the environment and human health are; As, Cu, Mo, Ni, Th, U, V, Zn and Co higher than those in the environment and human body. Increases in the trace elements found in the chemical structure of the ash resulting from combustion of the engine are determined as Sc, V, Co, Cu, Zn, Ga, As, Rb, Sr, Y, Zr, Nb, Mo, Cs, Ba, La, Ce, Pr, Nd, Sm, Eu, Gd, Tb, Dy, Ho, Tm, Yb, Lu, Hf, Ta, W, Pb, Th ve U… Among these trace elements, those having toxic effect are grouped as; As, Ba, Co, Cu, Mo, Pb, Sb, Th, V, U and Zn.
