Abstract (EN)

This retrospective descriptive study was conducted to determine the effect of sociodemographic characteristics on the disease and the factors affecting the quality of life during and after the treatment of the disease in children diagnosed with MIS-C associated with Covid-19. Between March 2020 and August 2022, 64 patients aged 0-18 years and their accompanying parents who were hospitalized with MIS-C findings in the Pediatric Covid Service of Istanbul Women's and Children's Diseases Training and Research Hospital were included. In the study, the Socio-demographic Data Collection Form was used first, followed by the Quality of Life Scale for Children (8-12 Years) to be completed by parents and children over 8 years of age. The data obtained in the study were evaluated using the SPSS 22.0 statistical program in the computer environment. Frequency and percentage analyses were used to determine the descriptive characteristics of the patients participating in the study and mean and standard deviation statistics were used to examine the scale. Kurtosis and Skewness values were analyzed to determine whether the research variables were normally distributed. Parametric methods were used to analyze the data. It was found that the effect of Mis-C on quality of life scores differed according to the socio-demographic characteristics of children.
