Abstract (EN)

In order to present the best service to the customers, to create innovations and especially to have competition advantages, one of the obligations in tourism business is to create alternatives and to present new products and to diversify tourist pruducts. Travel agencies and tour operators reach more customers by diversifying tourist products and to present new products. Besides Travel agencies and tour operators gain more profits by doing this. Visiting battlefields around the world has become one of the fastest growing tourism activities in recent decades. Therefore the companies working in travel business should answer this grooving activity.The aim of this survey is to determine the profile of the visitors and motives of visiting Gallipoli Peninsula National History Park. It has been the most visited battlefield in Turkey. A related literature scanning has been complete and smilar studies have been examined. It has been understood that the related literature studies are inadequate. Thus, this search has been done.This study consists of three parts. In the first part of the study It has been mentioned the relationship between tourism and battlefields, It has been searched and examined the other battlefields of the world too. In the second part of the study, it has been focused on Gallipoli Peninsula National History Park and the battlefields in it. In the third part It has been explained a search about the native tourists visiting the peninsula.In the research part the academic works in the battlefield tourism have been studied and then the field search has been done by the questionnaire. In the end of the field search, revealed datas have been analysed and evaluated. In this part the findings have been evaluated. It has been revealed that the main reasons of visiting Gallipoli Peninsula National History Park for Turkish tourists participated in the survey are to comprehend Gallipoli Campaign, to respect the fallen soldiers.The obligations have to be done for improving Gallipoli Peninsula National History Park and satisfactions of the visitors are to construct information and simulation centers with visual effects and to increase the quality of service.
