Abstract (EN)

Photography has been regarded as an art discipline which has been discussed with various concerns over the historical process. To understand and to symbolize the indicators in the examination on the problematic allows the creation of different categories of each other. The result of the obtained results was placed in a different place because of the traces of the war photograph category that was left on the perception of the danger of the working environment. The question of whether the war photos were used as propaganda materials led to the search for various representations on the photographs which were heavily weighted during the thesis work. Primarily, it has been explained by different propaganda techniques how important the child visual has been regarded as an important weapon since the discovery of the sociological effect on the societies. To have a more objective approach on the photographs studied within the scope of the thesis, semiotical studies of Roland Barthes is utilized. The photographs thought to be served for propaganda were studied both abstractly and concretely by Barthes' literal/figurative and studium / punctum techniques.
