Foreseeing the impact of digitalization on institutional qualities by artificial intelligence methods in the defense industry: An application in Sakarya

Abstract (EN)

Digitalization constitutes the essence of the technological revolution that has been taking place throughout the world in the last 10 years. Being able to determine its future position in terms of an industrial establishment and to predict what kind of studies in which fields and at what level constitute the basic features of the concept of digitalization. In this process, it is inevitable to support the updating and innovation, which are the most basic requirements of the information age, with artificial intelligence applications within the concepts of Industry 4.0 and Internet of Things. In particular, it is very important to what extent the defense industry, which is one of the most important factors in determining the future of countries, will be affected by these processes. There are defense and aviation clusters operating in various fields in our country. With this thesis study, a questionnaire with 107 questions was prepared and applied within the scope of digital transformation and artificial intelligence, whether a cluster that has been operating in a region of our country for years can form a model on a manufacturing industry already operating in another region depending on its production method and its final products. The results were analyzed using independent t test analysis, fuzzy logic and artificial neural network methods from artificial intelligence methods. Feedback was provided from 42 institutions from the Defense and Aviation Cluster (OSSA), which was officially established within Ankara OSTİM, and 59 institutions affiliated to Sakarya Chamber of Industry and Commerce. In the examination made; With the result that there is no statistically significant difference between the industrial index values calculated depending on the digital transformation processes, 93.66% of the results obtained in the fuzzy logic application depending on the general rules can be trained in artificial neural networks, and the institutions affiliated to the Sakarya Chamber of Commerce and Industry are It was observed that the scores obtained were 91.157% for training in artificial neural networks, and 87.172% for institutions affiliated to OSTİM-OSSA in fuzzy logic application. The rule-based fuzzy logic application created and the trainability of the results in artificial neural networks above 85% confirms that statistically correct results can be obtained. The survey and the results obtained within the scope of the research are guiding researchers who will work in related fields in the ministry of industry, universities and other public or private organizations throughout the country.
