Examining the impact of SCAMPER technique-based activities on creative thinking and academic success

The purpose of this research is to find that middle school 7. To investigate the effects of the use of scamper technique on students' creative thinking and academic success in the science course "Electrical Circuits" unit of the students, to determine the students' views on scamper technique and the awareness of science teachers on scamper technique. In the research, preliminary test from quantitative research methods – the final test will be used as a semi-experimental pattern with unequal control group. The research working group was held in the 2nd semester of the 2021 – 2022 academic year, at Fatih Sultan Mehmet Middle School in Amasra District, Bartin Province. It will be carried out with the students of the class. The content of the application of the research is 7. It includes a class-level Electrical Circuits unit. Quantitative and qualitative data will be obtained in the research. The Electrical Circuits Success Test pre-test will be used as the final test in obtaining quantitative data. EDBT will be shaped bypilot application before the research. The "How Creative Are You?" scale, taken from Whetton and Cameron (2002) and adapted into Turkish by Aksoy (2004), will be used to determine the effect of scamper technique on students' creativity. In order to determine the student opinions related to scamper technique, the Scamper Technique Student Opinions (NGO) semi-structured interview form prepared by the researchers will be applied in the acquisition of qualitative data. Again, a survey will be conducted to determine the awareness of science teachers on scamper technique. The control group and the experimental group will be determined in the study. When determining the experimental group and control group, the non-selective (simple random sample selection) method, which is a probability-based sampling method, will be used. The experimental group will be planned the curriculum using scamper technique, and the control group will be planning traditional courses in accordance with the curriculum. As a step of application of the research, electrical circuits success test will be applied as a preliminary test to the experimental and control group. After the course program applied in both groups, the final test application will be carried out to the experimental and control group. In the light of the data to be obtained from these applications, it will be seen whether the course processed with scamper technique has an effect on academic success. In addition, the semi-structured interview form to be used to determine the students' opinions on scamper technique will obtain data on the students' opinions about scamper technique. Quantitative and qualitative analysis methods will be used together in the analysis of the data to be obtained. Quantitative analysis methods using spss22 package program in analysis of quantitative data, MAXQDA 20 program and content analysis from qualitative analysis methods will be used in the analysis of qualitative data.
