Abstract (EN)

In this thesis study; The aim of this study was to histopathologically examine the effects of locally applied ozone gas on the soft tissue integrity and complications (ischemia and infection and consequently necrosis in the autogenous bone graft ) as a result of the loss of the integrity of the soft tissue on the autogenous bone graft. In our study 24 Wistar rats and 12 rats in each group were divided into 2 groups as control and ozone groups. Autogenous block bone graft with a diameter of 5 mm was taken from the right parietal bone of the subjects in the whole group and fixed to the left parietal bone with a titanium screw, and the wound was closed primarily. Autogenous block bone the soft tissue on the graft was taken with a diameter of 3 mm and the top of the graft was exposed. All subjects underwent the same surgical procedure. While no different procedure was applied to the control groups after surgery, ozone was applied locally to the ozone groups for 2 minutes, 3 days a week for 2 weeks after the procedure. Half of the control and ozone groups were sacrificed on Day 14 and the other half on Day 28. At the end of the study, soft tissue and bone samples taken from the subjects were evaluated histopathologically in Gaziantep University Histology Department Laboratory. The obtained results were statistically evaluated using Student's t test in our practice autogenous block on soft tissue healing over bone graft; While the effect of locally applied ozone in the early period (Day 14) was statistically significant compared to the control group (Day 14), the effect on bone healing was not significant (p<0.05).Disruption of the integrity of soft tissue on autogenous bone graft has become a major problem for researchers. In this study, in the soft tissue on the autogenous block bone graft; We think that the significant effect of ozone applied in the early period on healing will improve the deterioration of soft tissue integrity, which has become a major problem, and preserve the integrity of the applied autogenous bone grafts. When we look at the literature, there is no study yet to show the effect of ozone on the deterioration of the integrity of the soft tissue on the autogenous bone graft experimentally. We believe that our study will be a reference for future studies on this subject. However, we believe that more work needs to be done on this subject.
