Abstract (EN)

Epigallocatechin gallate, is a type of catechin found in some fruits and vegetables rich in flavonoids and tea terms. most are in a compound with antioxidant properties that contain catechins in terms of features. There are plenty in green tea. The main purpose of this study, anticonvulsant, anticancer, antioxidant and neuroprotective effects of epigallocatechin gallate has alleged that 's to investigate the effect on the experimental model created with penicillin epilepsy in rats. In this study, 48 adult Wistar rats were used and the rats; penicillin control group, 100 mg/kg of epigallocatechin gallate controls, penicillin prior to the 50 and 100 mg/kg of epigallocatechin gallate group, 50 and 100 mg/kg administered during a seizure appointed epigallocatechin gallate group having 6 group. All other ingredients except penicillin was administered intraperitoneally. Rats were 1.25 g/kg urethane anesthetized by intraperitoneally. Opening portions left on the bone cortex brain was placed on electrode surface area somatomotor. Penicillin and first pre-start latency of epileptiform applied epigallocatechin gallate and the control group during a seizure, the frequency and amplitude changes in the median amplitude are recorded with electrocorticography were analyzed by the computer program. There were no epileptiform activity in only a epigallocatechin gallate the control group. Measured only between 21 to 30 minutes before penicillin control between 50 and 100 mg/kg group, frequency have been found significant differences between the groups in terms of the median (P value = 0.050). 21-30 of the control group minutes of the median frequency measured between the other two groups (penicillin before 50 and 100 mg / kg) was found to be significantly higher. Other comparisons in control, before and during seizures penicillin 50 and 100 mg/kg group compared to the amplitude of the median only 11-20. and 21-30. groups in terms of amplitude variable in the penicillin group of pre-measured statistically significant difference was found between the minutes between, respectively (P = 0.049, P = 0.046). İn terms of latency assessment also it concluded that no significant difference was observed in a group. As a result, the studies showed that epigallocatechin gallate rats did not cause antiepileptic effect of the implementation on an experimental epilepsy model was created with penicillin and epileptiform some point on activity in the activity frequency and amplitude variable terms to the source of the work will be done with epigallocatechin gallate showed a poor effect it is important that these results.
