Özet (EN)

Spiders make up the largest order of the Arachida class in the world, with 120 families, 4144 genera and 48301 species. Work on spiders in our country began with Karol in 1967 and 119 genera and 302 species belonging to Turkey to define our country and constitutes the first spider list. Spiders differ in their morphology and anatomical features. Scytodes thoracica (Latreille 1802) has a cosmopolitan distribution. S. thoracica is distributed throughout Europe. 219 valid species include the name and S. thoracica is common in Turkey. S. thoracica is seen as 3 to 5 mm in length in males and 4 to 6 mm in females. Head and chest are globular in yellow color. The front of the head is protruding. Brown spots appear on the shell. Feet are thin and covered with brown rings. The abdomen is oval, covered with yellow-white, brown short hairs. There are 2 rows of black circular markings on the back half of the back. The eyes are arranged in three pairs. Their maxilla is pointed. The female reproductive system is haplogine and simple. It has sensory hair on its extremities. Thoracic cleft is not evident. Spinnerets are small and conical. Cephalothorax of Scytodes is oval-broad, convex and subglobulous, broadly rounded, curved forward and weakened, leading edge rather narrow and square-cut, often slightly protruding even at the corners; completely free of lines. Kelisers have a chitin membrane and a fang at the tip. In this thesis, the morphological characteristics of S. thoracica species were determined using scanning electron microscopy.
