Abstract (EN)

While the world population was 1 billion at the beginning of the 19th century, it has exceeded 7 billion in the last 200 years as a result of various social, cultural, economic and technological developments. The use of water resources, which is one of the natural resources necessary for sustaining living life, has increased due to reasons such as increasing world population, changing lifestyle and industrialization. At the same time, due to problems such as increasing population, overconsumption and global warming, the cost of providing quality and sufficient amount of water is also increasing. Generally, water pumping systems are dependent on conventional electricity or diesel-generated electricity. In rural areas, the inability to connect directly to a national grid station poses a problem for water supply. Furthermore, the negative impact of fossil fuels on the environment and energy security necessitates their conversion to more cost-efficient and futureproof investments. Given the shortage of grid electricity in rural and remote areas, photovoltaic (PV) pumping is one of the most promising applications of solar energy as a fuel cost-free, environmentally friendly and low maintenance system. Solar-powered water pumping systems have significant advantages over other pumping systems, such as maintenance-free operation, fuel-free, easy installation at any location, and long service life. In this study, it is aimed to design and analyze a system with chlorine dosing pump system for drinking water supply with grid-supported photovoltaic solar power plant in rural areas. For this purpose, PV*SOL premium 2022 program was used to simulate a chlorine dosing pump system for drinking water supply with photovoltaic solar power plant for Çılkıdır Village, Taşova district, Amasya province.
