Abstract (EN)

Seborrheic dermatitis (SD) is classified as a chronic and recurrent endogenous eczema affecting the seborrheic areas of the body, including the scalp, face and upper body. The localization and severity of the disease varies individually. General complaints in individuals differ depending on the severity of the disease, but psycho-social complaints are very common in these individuals. Identifying these psychosocial complaints will significantly change the success of the treatment. The aim of our study is to determine whether the disease differs with the severity of the disease by evaluating the psycho-social complaints in individuals with SD. Method For this purpose, 122 individuals diagnosed with SD were evaluated. Socio-demographic characteristics, SEDASI score, Rossenberg Self-esteem Scale, Dermatological Quality of Life Scale, Beck Depression Scale, Beck Anxiety Scale, Perceived Stress Scale, State Continuity Anxiety Scale, and Liebowitz Social Phobia Scale were used in the evaluation. The results were statistically analyzed with SPSS 25 package program. Results While the most common involvement localization in patients was 69.7% (n = 85) as the cheek area; In the 2nd place, 59.0% (n = 72) forehead region; 54.1% (n = 66) of the nose were detected as involvement. There was no statistically significant relationship between the severity of the patients and the RDSS score (p> 0.05).No statistically significant relationship was found between the disease severity and the Continuity anxiety score / State anxiety score (p> 0.05). No statistically significant relationship was detected between the severity of the patients' Perceived Stress score (p> 0.05). There is a weakly weak relationship between Liebowitz Performance Anxiety score and disease severity (p = 0.028; r = -0.199). Conclusion Psycho-social evaluation of SD patients during follow-up and treatment stages and required Multidisciplinary support is important in terms of affecting patients' quality of life and the prognosis of the disease positively. Our aim in this study is to evaluate the relationship between SD severity and quality of life, self-esteem, perceived stress level, anxiety, social phobia, depression and anxiety by evaluating psycho-social complaints in individuals with SD.
