Investigation of the reasons of disability of high school level athletes in selected branches (Di̇yarbakir sample)

The aim of this study was to determine the relationship between the introductory and sport related characteristics of the high school students who have at least 1 year of sportsman license in the selected branches in Diyarbakır and the determination of the causes of injury among branches. The population of the study was composed of students who are at high school level in Diyarbakır and who have at least 1 year of sports license in futsal, basketball or volleyball branches. The sample was composed of 416 students from basketball, volleyball or futsal teams of randomly selected schools. Quantitative research method was used in the study and data collection was carried out by a questionnaire. In order to reach the aim of the research, in the first section, 8 questions which are within the scope of the Info and Information on Sports Life were formed by the researcher. In order to investigate the causes of sports injuries according to the sports branches in the second section, Injury Causes Survey was used. The questionnaire used in the research was taken from the published thesis study prepared by Alkaabi (2015). The expressions in the questionnaire consist of 5-point Likert-type expressions. A total of 27 statements are included in the survey, and the expressions of the scale were evaluated individually. The data collected at the end of the study were analyzed with IBM SPSS 20 program. The data collected as a result of the research; distributions by frequency analysis. The relationship between the students' number of injuries and their characteristics related to sports was examined by Kay-kare test. One-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) was used to compare the mean values of the students according to the sports branches. In the one-way analysis of variance between groups, homogeneity of the variance between the groups was obtained with homogeneity in cases where the homogeneity of the post-hoc test to determine the difference between the post-hoc test Scheffe test, where homogeneity of the post-hoc test Tamhane's T2 test was used. range. As a result; It has been determined that the students' sports disability rates change according to gender, age, paint, weight, sports branch, duration of sports and frequency of training. Accordingly, male students are female students; small ones of the older ones; ones with a height of 171 cm or less than 170 cm; Less than 66 kg; the ones with volleyball and volleyball are the ones who have volleyball and basketball; those with less time than those who are athletes; It was found that the frequency of training was 0-4 hours per week and less than the others.
