Abstract (EN)

This survey was planned and conducted in order to determine what consumers think about the rest facilities. In line with this objective 237 consumers who use rest facilities located on various road routes were included in this survey. The vast majority of the travellers included in this survey were 36 years old and younger. It is seen that civil servants and graduates of higher education institutions travel more. It is observed that a prominent amount of the customers prefer fast food, and at this juncture, the restricted time on the rest period was effective. However, the consumers both prefer fast food, and find prices expensive. The number of consumers who prefer slop food section is large due to traditional flavors. In this section, the implemented self-service method is viewed positively by the consumers, but the food prices are found to be expensive.Consumers who can easily find products they want in the markets located inside of the rest facilities consider the prices excessive.Although the vast majority of consumers are able to register their requests and complaints easily about the rest facilities with the relevant unit, they are unsure whether these requests and complaints are being fulfilled or not.The excessive amount of prices ranks first amongst the issues that consumers have difficulty most in rest facilities. In emergence of this situation, the influence of promotional fees that bus companies receive from the rest facilities is great. To balance this cost, rest facilities apply huge prices. As a result, consumers are adversely affected. It is important for the rest facilities to adopt a consumer-oriented service approach. This is the only way to make negative consumer thoughts about the rest facilities disappeared. As a result, rest facilities not only will increase their incomes but also turn into establishments trusted by the consumers.
