Abstract (EN)
Within the scope of this thesis, the sustainability assessments of Selçuk University were made. STARS and GreenMetric systems were used in the evaluations. These evaluation systems were preferred because of the large number of participants and the availability of accessible data. According to the results of the evaluations, the subjects that the university can develop in short (1-2 years), medium (3-4 years) and long (more than 4 years) maturities were examined financially. Almost all of the areas in which financial investment is needed are environmental issues and the deficiencies of policies in social and economic areas cause loss of points. In addition, data such as water use in the university, living area of buildings, inventory of greenhouse gases, number of real vehicles coming to the university, total number of academic courses, amount of waste were missing, and these data were not monitored. In the light of the evaluations made, the gaps and opportunities in the university were discussed and the score equivalents of the developed strategies were evaluated in GreenMetric and STARS evaluations. In GreenMetric evaluation, points increased with created strategies 22.75% at short term, 8.75% at medium term and 1% at long term. With the increase in the short term, it has been observed that Selçuk University can be ranked among the top 100 universities. In STARS evaluation, points increased with created strategies 17.51% at short term, 10.18% at medium term and 2.27% at long term. Due to the large data deficiencies in the STARS assessment, these scores did not result in a higher BRONZE rating. It was concluded that the main reason for the long-term low scores was the lack of predictability of data and changes in values.
