Abstract (EN)
Aim: The aim of this study is to examine the effects of the SMR technique applied after strength exercises on muscle damage, selected cytokine parameters and performance in terms of application times. Material and Method: The sample group of the study consists of 40 male participants with a mean age of 21.85±1.98 who studied undergraduate education in BATÜBESYO. Three practice phases were applied to the participants. The research was done as 4 protocols. In each protocol, blood was drawn and VAS was applied before strength exercises, after strength exercises, at 24., 48. and 72. hours (after SMR applications in SMR protocols). OMNI-RES was applied after strength exercises. Field tests were performed at 24, 48, and 72 hours before each protocol. Results: There was a significant difference between CK values in passive recovery protocol, between VAS values in SMR1 protocol, between LDH, CK, VAS values in SMR2 protocol, between CK and VAS values in SMR3 protocol, between CK and VAS values in SMR1, SMR2 and passive recovery protocols. There were significant differences between right and left claw test values in SMR1, SMR2 and passive recovery protocols; between vertical jump test values in SMR2 and passive recovery protocols; between horizontal jump and sit and lie test values in SMR1, SMR2, SMR3 and passive recovery protocols; between 20m sprint test values in SMR2 and SMR3 protocols; between T-line test values in SMR1 and SMR3 protocols; between pre-exercise measurement, post-exercise, 24th, 48th and 72 hours after exercise. Conclusion: It was determined that the self-myofascial relaese technique applied after strength exercises had an positive effects on muscle damage, selected cytokine parameters and performance values in terms of application duration.
