Selim İleri and literary criticism

This study has been made to put forth the sense of criticism of Selim İleri who has been known as the most productive authors of the recent Turkish literature and gave love novels, short stories, essays, memoirs for our literature over the past forty years. In the first section of the study, information on the life and literary personality of Selim İleri has been given and in the second section, İleri's understanding of art and comments about literary genres from Tanzimat Period to Republic Period has been evaluated. And in the third section of the study, İleri's opinions about visual and performing arts has taken place.Selim İleri's newspaper and magazine articles, non-fiction books and interviews reveal the sense of the author's criticism. The author using a clear, limpid and fluid language in his newspaper and magazine articles and has got a sincere style.This study which has explain the Selim İleri's opinions about every branch of art by analyzing his newspaper and magazine articles and non-fiction books defines him as a censorious.
