Abstract (EN)
In this thesis, it is aimed to develop antibacterial coating materials that can be cured by UV rays according to the thiol-en click reaction mechanism. For this purpose, silver nanoparticles were synthesized within the scope of the thesis and acrylate functionality was given to the synthesized nanoparticles. Ag nanoparticles with acrylate functionality synthesized at different rates (0, 20, 40 and 60%)were added to the formulations containing cellulose with acrylate functionality and monomer with 4 thiol functionality. The prepared formulations were cured with UV rays and antibacterial coating materials were developed with a simple and environmentally friendly method. The size analyzes of the prepared acrylate functional silver nanoparticles were investigated by DLS and the size was measured as 48.4 ± 0.4 nm. The thermal properties of the prepared coatings were characterized by TGA. It was observed that the thermal strength of the coatings did not change much with the addition of Ag nanoparticles, but slightly improved. The morphological properties of the prepared coatings were characterized by SEM and SEM-EDAX. SEM images showed that Ag nanoparticles were homogeneously distributed on the coating surface. SEM-EDAX results showed that Ag nanoparticles were present on the coating surface. It was investigated by 1H-NMR that the synthesized cellulose with acrylate functionality was successfully synthesized and it was seen that the modification was successful. The structure of Ag nanoparticles with acrylate functionality was investigated by FTIR and it was seen that the modification resulted in success. The antimicrobial effect of the coatings is evaluated by the disk diffusion test, and the antimicrobial effect is calculated in direct proportion to the diameter of the inhibition zone formed. As the amount of silver nanoparticles with acrylate functionality increases, the antibacterial properties increase as a result of the disk diffusion test.
