Acute and genotoxical effect of synthetic prethroid deltametrin upon pseudorasbora parva (Temminck & Schlegel, 1846)

Abstract (EN)

In this study, the 96 h LC50 values were determined on Pseudorasbora parva of synthetic pyrethroid deltamethrin, toxic contaminant on aquatic ecosystems. The genotoxi effects of deltamethrin was determined by the nucleus abnormalitives of the erythrocytes. The study was carried out by useing static acute test and micronucleus test were used for the determination of the genotoxic effects. Also the behavioral changes of Pseudorasbora parva individuals induced by deltametrin throughout the study were monitored. The data were evaluated by the use of Probit Analysis and the 96-h LC50 value was found to be 685.506 µg/L. The MN frequency for the control and the experimental group after the micronucleus test were found to be 0.75 ? and 11.1 ? respectively. The difference between the MN frequencies of the experimental and control group was found to be statistically significant. It is recommended that the necessary measured should be taken before the agricultural use of this very toxic compound in order to prevent the contamination of the aquatic ecosystems.
