Shari Law to Marital Law marriage, example of Çorum (1840-1930)

In this study, after giving information about marriage law in ancient Turks, Reforms, II. Abdülhamid, the period of Union and Progress, marriage law has been emphasized.The Civil Code of the Republican Period and its practices in Çorum were examined. The subject is mainly composed of two main headings.In the first part, marriage law was examined from Reforms to the Republic.In the second part, Civil Law and Çorum application are emphasized. We tried to make use of the records of our positional Çorum Courts, the family ordinances of 1917 and the records of the Corum Marriage Registry of 1840-1930.
