Abstract (EN)

This thesis consists of six main sections. In the first part, detailed information about ceramics, types of ceramic tiles, standards of ceramic tiles, distinctive features and ceramic tile industry are given. In the second part, all the pattern transfer technologies used in the ceramic tile industry are explained. Preparatory phases of the serigraphy printing technique, which is the mechanical printing technology, and the screen types used in the rotary printing technique, printing machines and the methods of preparing the designs in the computer according to this technique, and the necessary points to be considered are explained. In addition, information on the digital printing technologies in the printing and textile sectors where pattern printing is used is also given. In the third chapter, digital printing technology used in ceramic tile sector is explained in detail. Examples of the ceramic tile industry in which digital printing technology is used include printing presses, printing heads and ink producers, examples of ceramic tile varieties produced using this technology. In addition, the properties of ceramic glaze and ceramic ink developed for this printing technology are also mentioned. In the fourth chapter, color and color management issues in digital printing, which is important for designers, are explained and methods of preparing patterns for ceramic tiles using digital printing technology are explained using computer screen photographs and visuals. In the fifth chapter, the screening method and the photographs taken with the digital camera, and the two phases of the project, which were designed using the pattern preparation method, were described using factory photographs from the application stages. In the conclusion section, the effect of digital printing technology used in ceramic industry on producer, designer, product and buyer has been questioned and with this developing technology, the dream of what can be done in ceramic tile industry is established.
