Abstract (EN)
Social, economic, cultural and politic changes througout the history have gained a tremendous acceleration after the Industrial Revolution, improving technology has led to great changes in production- consumption relations and man has begun to consume more as they produce more. In the industrialization period of 249 years since the first machine working with vapour power, man has used up most of world?s clean resources and as a result of this rapid consumption, quantity of waste has increased and people have started to quit their possessions easily, to find them not as valuable as before and to loose them off easily. Thus, getting rid of waste has been a critical issue for people but their physical appearance has contributed as exploration, material and symbol for artists who have plunged into a new quest while shaping the modern and post modern period. This paper reviews this contribution in the context of ceramics and semtinizes the effect of waste ceramic material on expression opportunities in ceramics both in historical process and from the point of contemporary ceramics artists. In our country, there exist recycle projects intensively worked on which aim to serve for especially ceramics industry. These thesis includes contents that aim to use a material considered as waste by industry in production in certain amounts. The most significant factor designating the distinctive value of the Project named ? Use of Waste Ceramics in the Art of Ceramics as an Alternative Means of Expression? will be recyle of waste ceramics in artistic designs and practises based on aesthetic concerns using different ceramic techniques.
