Abstract (EN)

The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between sleep habits and levels of gross motor functions in children with spastic cerebral palsy. 60 children with CP, aged 3 to 15, have been attending a special training and rehabilitation center in Düzce, were included into the study. Children's demographic information were obtained, their gross motor function levels were evaluated by Gross Motor Classification System (GMFCS). Sleep problems in children were assessed by Children's Sleep Habits Questionnaire (CSHQ). Nottingham Health Profile was used to assess parents' quality of life perception. As a result of statistical analysis of the data, sleep disorders have been identified mostly in every child. However, there were no relationship between motor disfunction and sleep disorders (p>0,05) except morning fatigue parameter (p<0,05). There were no relations between medication and cognitive level (IQ) and sleep disorders (p>0,05). There was no difference between parents' quality of life perception and children's sleep disorders (p>0,05). Keywords: Cerebral palsy, Children's sleep habits, Gross motor function level.
