Abstract (EN)

Objective: The objective of this study is to investigate cerebral vascular variations in patients observed with BT angio for any reason using computed tomography with 64 detectors which is a high tech product.Material and Methodology: 500 patients (253 women, 247 men) had CT scan in the period of April 2008- March 2010 at Dicle University Medicine Faculty Hospital Radiology Unit were surveyed in this study. Patients had CT scan with brain BT angio protocol were evaluated using multiplanar, MİP and VR images in work station.Findings: 500 patients were surveyed in terms of cerebral vascular variations. 253 of them were women (50,6%) and 247 of them were men (49,4%). Any variation could not detected among 73 (14,6%) of 500 patients. 773 variations were totally detected among 500 patients. Variations were categorized as Willis polygon, fenestration and other variations. Frequent variations were detected at Willis polygon and PCOA hypoplasia was detected as prevalent variation.Result: Cerebral vascular variations are phenomenon frequently met and detected during cerebral BT angiography screening scanned for any illness. Analyze of computed tomography images of these anomalies lets correct definition of these anomalies. Correct definition is important in the sense of differential diagnosis, and detection of variations during surgery is necessary for preventing major complications
