Serebrovasküler hastalarda tiroid fonksiyon testlerinin ve lipid düzeylerinin araştirilmasi

The aim of this study is to investigate the relationship between thyroid function disorders and cerebrovascular diseases of hyperlipidemia patients and to contribute to the literature. The study was conducted with the diagnosis of cerebrovascular disease in the neurology outpatient clinic of Istanbul Erenköy Psychiatry Training and Research Hospital 250 were selected as the patient group and 129 as the control group. Thyroid function tests, T3, T4 TSH and lipid parameters cholesterol LDL-C HDL-C VLDL-C and triglyceride tests were performed in Abboot Brand Ci4100 Autoanalyser Device. When the patient and control groups were evaluated in terms of blood lipid levels, HDL levels were significantly lower in the patient group compared to the control group. VLDL and TG levels were significantly higher in the patient group compared to the control group. There was no statistically significant difference between the patient and control groups in terms of LDL levels. Cholesterol levels were significantly higher in the patient group than in the control group. When the patient and control groups were compared, the T3 value was statistically lower in the patient group compared to the control group. No statistically significant difference was found between the patient and control groups in terms of T4 and TSH values. In the light of this information, we think that all patients admitted to hospital with vague systemic complaints should be investigated in terms of thyroid and lipid values in addition to known risk factors such as hypertension, heart disease, atrial fibrillation. It may not show serious clinical symptoms especially in some cases such as hyperthyroidism, hypothyroidism and hyperlipidemia, which increases the importance of these investigations.
