Religion and society according to Şerif Mardin

This study aims to draw attention to Serif Mardin, who is prominent with his studies in the Religion Sociology area and it's an evaluation study inspired by Serif Mardin's perspective of religion an society. Serif Mardin, who is well known for his studies on community analysis and the social effects of religion in the field of sociology of religion focuses on the consepts: Ottoman, Turkey, Islam, Religion, Ideology, Politics, Society, Modernization, Secularization, History and Culture are some areas emphasizes on. His perspective on the Ottoman-Turkish society was the subject of evaluation in this study as a result of the analysis and evaluations he made by interpreting these concepts. As a sociologist who gained a place in the international social science community with his unique thought structure and tried to understand and explain the religion, culture, and political structure prevailing in the Ottoman-Turkish society, he made a contribution to sociology by comparing the Ottoman Empire and modern-day Turkey. Serif Mardin has become well known in Turkey for his significant contributions to sociology, examines concepts such as religion, modernization, Westernization objectively. His ability to synthesize the Western philosophy with the one common in Turkey without going beneath the impression of any other ideologies makes him one of the Intellects in Turkey. Mardin, who tries to comprehend and spread the social function of religion in Turkey since Ottoman, focuses on the effects of Islam on our society. Various concepts on which the understanding of religion and society is based, modernism, secularization, ideology and many other issues are analyzed and evaluated, the religion of Islam and states that the relationship of the Ottoman-Turkish society.
