Abstract (EN)

SUMMARY Seram Paraoxonase (PON1) Activity and Its Relationship with PON1 Polymorphism and Seum HDL-C Levels Coronary artery disease is a common disease and it has high motality and morbidity effect. Atherosclerosis is major cause of cardivasculary diseases. High density lipoprotein (HDL) an anti atherogenic lipoprotein, is strong inverse association with incidance of coronary artery disease. Paraoxonase (PON), (EC: 3.1.8.1) enzyme binds to HDL structure, and suggested that PON prevented low density lipoprotein from oxidation. PON has three different genetic polymorphism (QQ, QR, RR) on the 192. positions. Several studies have suggested that there are relationship between PON1 Q192 R polymorphism and coronary artery disease. It was aimed to investigate PON1 192 gene polymorphism, PON1 activity, antibody against oxidized LDL, serum lipids parameters and their association with coronary artery disease. Our studies groups included total healty group (152 men, 102 women), control group that obtained from total healty group sex and age matched with CAD group ( 90 men, 24 women) and CAD group (76 men, 25 women). The levels of serum TC, TG, HDL-C, LDL-C, Apo AI, Apo B, Lp(a), Apo AI/ApoB, antibody against oxidized LDL (oLAb) and PON activity/HDL-C were determined. We also determined PON1 Q192R genetic polymorphism and Q, R allel frequnecy. It was not find association assay PON activity PON1 Q192R polymorphism and CAD. However, It was found that QQ frequency has low PON activity, QR has more high levels and RR genotyping has highest activity. The allel frequency was 0.76/0.24 (Q/R) and this data same the outher studies on Turkis population. There are multifactorial interaction among plasma HDL-C, PON activity and oLAb levels and all these parameters may play important role on development of CAD.
