Servet Somuncuoğlu, a producer in TRT (Turkish Radio Television), photographer, screenwriter, researcher, writer, poet and documentary director who has been known for his work in the Turkish world, has left behind many valuable works. For many years, he has prepared a number of qualified cultural programs on TRT Istanbul Radio Station. Later on, he documented Turkish culture on TRT Istanbul Television Channel. "From Siberia to Anatolia: The Turks on the Rock, The Migration of Tamga/Stamps: Kurgan and Saymalitas Sky Horses" are among his works where he searches the Turks who wrote history to the stone. After his works "The Secret of the Snowy Mountain" and "The Migration of the Stamps" where he was both the director and scripter were broadcasted on TRT, he drew great attention. The Migration of the Stamps, which is about Ankara Güdül Turkish Cave Paintings Field which is originally a discovery by Somuncuoğlu himself, clearly unfolds the similarities of the rock paintings in Anatolia with the cultural assets in Turkestan geography. By preparing Orhun Monuments Poster Set, he revealed the cleanest and the most legible copies that have been made since the day when Orhun inscriptions were discovered. "Tired of Migration" a poetry book he wrote in his health which consists of forty four poems was edited by his wife Nevin Somuncuğlu and his son Sencer Burak Somuncuoğlu, made ready to be published by N. Ender İmamoğlu after his death. Studies are still being carried out to collect his essays and stories into a book. His books "A Dedicated Life: The Memoirs of Çetin Berkmen" and "The Eyes of the Universe" are unique works created by the synthesis of memoir-biography-interview types. "Don Cossacks" is a review essay type of research where he tells the migration story of Manyas-Akşehir Cossacks and Malakans of Kars who lived in Turkey between the years 1740-1962 and immigrated to Russia in 1962. Moving from the memories of his military service, he was inspired by his military friend Muzaffer Sarısülük and wrote "Gallemit" which is an example of a biographical novel. The name of Muzaffer Sarısülük has recently become a main topic of conversation in social fact events because of a tragic event. Somuncuoğlu, who aimed to unearth the unwritten history of the Turks with the photographs he took and the documentaries he shot, left very important documents not only in terms of Turkish history, but also in terms of human history, with his studies made in a very wide geography extending from Altay Mountains to Canada. After his death, Servet Somuncuoğlu Gift Book was published with the name of "Khan of the Stones" composed of the writings written by his family, friends and colleagues. This work named "Servet Somuncuoğlu, His Life, Art and Works" consists of three main sections following the introductory section.In the introduction section; after presenting the samples from our artists who did not deal with just one field in our literature and gave works in many different fields, mentioning his interests briefly, it is emphasized that Servet Somuncuoğlu was one of our multi-faceted artists. The first chapter, which is titled as "Servet Somuncuoğlu's Life and Studies", has been discussed within the context of interviews with his immediate surroundings covering the subtitles as his childhood, primary school years, junior high and high school years, university years, teaching years, first years in TRT, army years, relations with his entourage and his death, being a producer and research trips, photographic arts, documentarism and awards he took. In the second chapter, titled "General Evaluation of Servet Somuncuoğlu's Works", his works are generally discussed. In the third chapter, which is titled "The Analysis of the Gallemit Novel" the biographical novel work which is named Gallemit is studied in terms of form and content. Last portion, which has the general title of "Annexes", it is aimed to both achieve a better understanding of him and to participate in the visual richness appropriate to Servet Somuncuoğlu's style with sub-titles as documents and his own photographs.
