Abstract (EN)
YABANCI DİLDE ÖZET It has been well established that HPV can be recovered from %95 of the cervical cancers and it has been known that earlier diagnosis is important in following and prognosis of the illness. In this study, cervical samples of the patients that applied to Gazi University Obstetrics and Gynecology Out Patient Clinics with different symptoms were researched for carcinogenic HPV types; 16, 18, 31, 33, 35, 45, 51, 52, 56 by Hybrid Capture I Assay. The patients were interviewed about; age, first sexual intercourse, number of partners, condom using, HPV story in the partner, number of pregnancy, number of live birth and number of abortus. Also smear samples were taken from the patients and sent to Gazi University Pathology Laboratory. With Hybrid Capture Assay, 10 of the 14 9 patients were positive and 139 were negative. The above parameters of the positive and negative patients were compared with each other by statistical analyses and except the number of abortus no meaningful differences were determined. Because the cytological investigations cannot establish whether HPV is carcinogenic or not; only 1 of the 6 patients that is cytologically positive was positive with hybrid capture assay. But there were 9 patients that were positive by hybrid capture assay but negative by cytological investigations. Also there was no meaningful difference between the cytological and microbiological results. As a result; it has been considered that the HPV DNA assays which can investigate high-risk HPV groups can be useful in the early diagnosis of cervical cancers.
