Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is to analyse the works of Sevim AK, one of the important authors of children's literature, in the context of 10 core values determined by the Ministry of National Education (2017). This study aims to find out the extent to which children can benefit from literary works used as an educational material throughout their educational life. The materials classified by core values in the research are 21 children's books written by Sevim AK. The research method of the study is descriptive, and the contents of the works were analysed by document analysis method. The data obtained in the study were grouped by considering the 10 core values determined by the Ministry of National Education (2017). As a result of the research, the first three core values most frequently used in the works were determined as love (f=315), respect (242) and friendship (240). The least included core value was found to be patriotism (f=51). Based on the findings of the research, at least eight values from the core values determined by the Ministry of National Education (2017) were included in all the children's books written by Sevim AK. As a result of these data, the analysed 21 children's books are very rich in terms of values education for educators and children and can be used as values education materials. At the end of the study, suggestions were made for educators and other researchers.
