Measurement degree of valid object determination for the items of 6th grade science and technology subtest of high school entrance exam (SBS) 2010

The general aim of this research is to decide whether items stated in the test measure valid objectives specified in the teaching field and therefore conclude whether there is a content validity or not and make contribution to the arrangements by means of determining indexes of item-objective congruence of the 6th grade science and technology subtest items of high school entrance exam which was implemented by Ministry of National Education in 2010 with respect to the views of the experts. The workgroup of the research is 10 experts in the field of Science and Technology Education who are working in several universities of Turkey. The data used in the study has been gotten via ?Expert views form for 6th grades science and technology subtest of high school entrance exam (SBS)? that is developed by the researcher. Before this form is developed, a table of objectives is taken from directorate-general of educational technologies (EĞİTEK). This table shows each item in the subtest and their respective objectives and learning domains of 6th grade Science and Technology course program. The experts in Science and Technology field are asked to evaluate each item listed on the table whether it measures the respective objective or not by defining the item ?clearly measuring?, ?partially measuring? and ?clearly not measuring?. The indexes item-objective congruence and average of expert scores are calculated for each item. According to the mean value of the points obtained for each items at the end of the research, experts agreed that 10 of the 16 items in Science and Technology subtest of High School Entrance Exam 2010 measure valid objectives but couldn?t agree on that according to indexes of item-objective congruence, whether the 10 items measure other objectives or not.
