Abstract (EN)

Şevket Bulut, one of the Turkish story writers, after completing primary school in Kilis, he continues his high school education at Adana Building Institute, where he passed the exams. He started writing poetry in high school. He takes part in plays whose texts he wrote himself. Having completed his higher education at Erzurum Gündüz Technician School, Bulut starts working as the Construction Bureau Chief in the Maraş National Education Directorate. Starting his literary studies with poetry, Bulut thinks that he cannot be successful in this field, and turns to the story. In this study, after giving information about the development process of the story, Şevket Bulut's life is explained. The 113 stories of Bulut, who wrote his works during the turbulent periods when a world war, three coups and the Maraş Events were experienced, in the eight storybooks published, were examined in terms of structure and theme. Influenced by storytellers such as Maupassant, Ömer Seyfettin, Refik Halit Karay, and Memduh Şevket, Şevket Bulut wrote event stories. In his stories, he wrote the reality of Anatolia with a spiritualist realistic perspective and successfully treated the people of the Southeastern Anatolia region. In his stories, proverbs, idioms, folk tales, aphorisms, legends, and folk beliefs have a wide place. KEYWORDS: Şevket Bulut, Story, Event Story January 2023, 124 Page
