Abstract (EN)
XIV ABSTRACT In the last quarter of the twenty-first century, a sudden increase can be seen in the activity of international goods, services, capital and information. This activity which is called globalization has caused to start a new era in tourism industry. First of all, it is right to say that the supply and demand structure of tourism which is the market dynamics of tourism industry is directly effected by this constitution. With the removal of national boundaries and handicappes in front of trade with globalization; an important part of revenue which is earned by enterprises working in tourism industry, realised from tourism destinations to the partners in the origin countries. According to this, the advantage of globalization for developped countries can contain important danger for developing countries. Nevertheless there can be an imbalance between tourism destinations and origin countries. It won't be wrong to mention that the sudden progression in tourism industry with globalization has started with the concentration and merger tendencies in European travel market. In fact the recent structure of European travel market's leading German and English travel groups take their shape with taking over the chain companies working in travel market. This takeover process based on creating product sorts, with different brands, by relevant groups. Thus this taking over the company or chain which is experienced on the needed product proves low costs and less effort for having more market share. With the progression of tourism industry, the companies which are not active in this industry section, start to make investments in tourism industry. Today European travel market's leading groups have an unrivalled position with horizantal and vertical integrations. In recent years it can be seen that German and English groups which are active in too many countries in Europe, extend their concentration level to overseas countries. These groups have also operations in Turkey and these operations narrow the activation area of independent Turkish travel agencies. In long term it threats the existence of these travel agencies.XV This study searches how German and English travel groups could get the leading position through years at the parallel of tourism industry. In the second phase, according to the data found out, the effect of European travel market's recent structure on Turkish travel market was determined. These effects based on a concrete truth, therefore it was necessary to make a research through the travel agencies, which are one of the most important actors of travel market in Antalya as the heart of Turkey's tourism. As a conclusion, in the light of found out data, ideas were processed over ways of solution.
