Abstract (EN)
In this study, the elements of social life in Shaybani Khan Divan are analyzed. The Divan is one of the most important works of 16th century Chagatai literature and provides important information about the social, cultural and political structure of Central Asia as well as reflecting the literary understanding of the period. The only surviving manuscript copy is in the Ahmed III Library of the Topkapı Palace Museum in Istanbul and is notable for both its artistic and historical value. The work deals with themes such as family and social relations, love and affection, war and victory, while depictions of nature also play an important role. In his poems, Shaybani Khan sincerely described the economic difficulties experienced by the people, friendship and neighborly relations, victories in battlefields and personal losses. He went beyond the traditional divan poetry and conveyed historical events and social issues in the form of poetry. At the same time, he saw himself as a defender of Islam, but he opposed rigid religiosity and was open to Sufi ideas. Religious elements in the Divan are shaped around worship, trust and love for the Prophet Muhammad. The idea that absolute devotion to Allah and servitude to Him is the true glory of man is emphasized in the poems. The deep love for the Prophet Muhammad is treated with the belief that he is the reason for the existence of the universe, and in this context, holy days such as Miraç Kandili, Mevlid Kandili and Nevruz have a special place. Nowruz was taken as a symbol of spiritual purification and renewal with the revival of nature, and Shaybani Khan saw this day as an opportunity to ease the pain of separation and renew hope.
