Abstract (EN)
In this research, natural environment properties and hydrogeological characteristics of Seyfe Lake which is one of twelve wetlands of Turkiye are analysed and the reaction of digged wells on this basin to ground water are searched. Seyfe Lake situated in Mucur, Kırşehir, Central Anatolia Region is the most important wetland of our country for birds with its shallow water area which changes from salt water to fresh water; its rich catchment basin in ecologic character as marsh, grass and steppe around it; its islands enabling safe nest chance for birds away from people and raptors; its position on the two bird migration paths which are centred on Anatolia peninsula from Europe, Asia and Africa; its closeness to Sultan Sazlığı and Salt Lake which are among the wetlands of our country. Especially flamingos are identified with the lake.Seyfe Lake which is the only wetland in Kırşehir is among the class A wetlands of Turkiye. Seyfe Closed Basin has 152.200 hectare area. Its 10.700 hectare area is made nature reserve area on the date of 26.08.1990, its 23.585 hectare area is made first grade natural protected area in 1989 and its 10.700 hectare is included to RAMSAR contract list in 1994. The basin has playa and bolson quality in arid and semiarid area topography. Dominant morphology is glacier. The basin is fed with rain and limited resources. It dehygrates water with vaporing and transpiration. So, the lake narrows in dry spells and spreads on a large area in pluvial times as Winter and Spring. A draniage surrounding the lake is completed. A watering project to do agriculture on steppe lands but these projects are canceled after its announcement as ?Nature Reserve Area?. ?Seyfe Basin Ecology Reserve Project? is prepared by State Hydraulic Works. In the basin, chalks which are crystalized with Palaeozoic old mermaids has aquifer characteristics. Also, neogene sediments transport groundwater. Groundwter in the basin heads towards the lake. In our study, geological, geomorphological, slope index, height and water table maps of the basin are prepared by using ARCGIS-10 program. Needed datas for geochemical research are collected. Therefore, water quality of basin is presented. Water of this lake is as salty as Salt Lake. Key Words: Kırşehir, Seyfe Lake, groundwater, ARC GIS, geomorphology.
