Investigation of water and sediment heavy metal quality in the Seyfe Lake

The scope of this study was studied to determine quantities of water andsediment of lake the amounts of heavy metals(Cd, Pb, Cr, Co, Ni, Zn, Cu, As) inone year period as seasonally (spring, summer, autumn, winter) in the SeyfeLake. Again the scope of this study, researched the effect upon water andsediment quality intensive agricultural activities in the basin of the lake intheamounts of heavy metals used in synthetic fertilizer. According the results ofwater analysis, Lake Seyfe's water quality Pb, Cd and As according to theRegulation on Water Pollution Control IV. quality of water entering the class.According to the amount, Cu, Co and Cr II. Class of water quality, Accordingto the amount of Ni and Zn in the water quality feature shows I.sınıf. Accordingto the analysis of sediment samples according to seasonal periods; in summerZn>Pb>As>Cr>Ni>Cu>Co>Cd; In the period of winterZn>Pb>As>Cr>Ni>Cu>Cd>Co are calculated in metal concentrations. Ingeneral, periods of seasonal changes in Lake Seyfe despite the accumulation ofheavy metals may be mentioned. Quite above the average values of the annuallimit values for arsenic, especially the regulation of arsenic accumulation is aserious fall and pruning at the base. Seyfe Lake water and sediment quality interms of heavy metals investigated in this study, we show that the result is faceto face with metal pollution in the lake.Especially in the area of the lake basin is a source of industrial pollutant sourcesand the lack of intensive agricultural activities in the region canceled, a heavymetal pollution from agricultural sources suggest that the problem.
