Abstract (EN)

Memican Efendi is a Turkish Sufi who lived in the Ottoman Empire in the 16th century. He is an important Sufi who grew up in the Uşşakî and Halvetî sect circles. The period in which Memican Efendi lived was a period when the Ottoman Empire was at its peak in economic, political, military and social terms. During this period, Memican Efendi made a significant contribution to the Halvetî school of sect, which has deep traces in the Ottoman Sufi life, by revealing his Sufi thoughts and principles. When Memican Efendi's Sufi thoughts are considered, it is seen that his views adopt Ibn Arabi's views on unity of existence and levels of existence and are even completely influenced by him. It can be said that the author's Sufi views were shaped on the basis of unity of existence, and that he was based on both the fivefold and sevenfold levels of existence. The quartet of Hakîkat-i Muhammediyye, perfect human being itkan/yaqin and shariah-tarîqat-haqîkat-ma'rifat constitute the backbone of the Seyr u Süluk method. The Sufi, who displayed a distant stance towards the world, made important determinations and suggestions regarding the sheikh-disciple relations and the necessity of the master. He included the subjects of divine love and love of the Prophet, the four caliphs, Asherah al-Mubashsharah, the Ahl al-Bayt and the love of the twelve imams in his Divanche in the couplets he chanted. According to him, even if a person recites Tawhid alone as much as he wants, he cannot save himself from the world and reach ma'rifatullah and Allah. Memican Efendi defended the Ahl al-Sunnah very strictly and fought against the ilhad and atheism movements of his time. In this study, Memican Efendi's Life, Works and Sufi views have been discussed and tried to be explained.
