Abstract (EN)
Seyitömer Höyük is located 25 km northwest of Kütahya. Archaeological excavations were carried out intermittently between 1989-2021 in order to reach the coal under and around Seyitömer Höyük, which is now within the Thermal Power Plant Operation area. The thesis titled "Seyitömer Höyük Level VI Architecture and Pottery" includes the data of Level VI excavated between 2020-2021. The study is based on two main topics: architecture and pottery. In the architecture of Level VI, which was exposed on the upper plain of the mound, 24 rooms and 17 floors were identified. The rooms, which are concentrated in the southeast of the mound, have common walls, one or two rooms and rectangular plans. The back walls of these rooms were built thicker than the side and front walls. In addition to the rooms, floors were unearthed in the settlement. These rooms and floors provide information about the settlement plan. It was concluded that the settlement had a radial plan and was surrounded by a fortification wall built by thicker construction of the back wall of the rooms. The most intensive find group of Level VI consists of pottery. It was determined that the pottery of this layer was produced in hand-made, wheel-made and a few molds. Eleven ware groups were identified in the pottery. Among the ware groups, film slipped and imported ware groups, thin slipped and thin quality, gray slipped and bright burnished, plain and bright red slipped and burnished ware groups were examined. While local forms continue in the vessels, Syrian bottles and goblets were added to the repertoire as Syrian-Mesopotamian forms. Along with these forms, wheel-produced plate forms and depasters also appear for the first time in this layer. The findings and radiocarbon results were evaluated together and the settlement was dated to 2570-2450 BC. Daha sonra doldurulacaktır
