Abstract (EN)
Sociology of religion, which is dealing with religion-society relations as main field of study, is one of the most important sub-branches of sociology. Man of founding fathers of sociology predicted that traditional religions would lose their importance, following modernization. But today, we can observe that this theory has been wrong. It can be seen that traditional religions have risen and revived since 1990s. Undoubtedly, the religion of Islam and its world has taken its share from this revival. Islam, both socially and politically, is going through one of the most proponent eras. Even if it is still discussed whether this effectiveness is healthy or not, it is a reality that the religion has already taken place at the center of life. Seyyid Kutup, via both his ideas and activities, has given rise to significant influences on renascent Islamic- life. These impacts have been important in terms of religion-society relations or sociology of religion. In this study, is examining Seyyid Kutup's ideas concerning religion and society within the frame of idiosyncratic concepts, and his Islamic sayings which presented by him are tried to be associated with sociology. Kutup's ideology, which were constituted by analyzing the West and Middle Eastern social structures in his era, are seen to be worth to be examined. He thinks that the social structures established by societies should be supported with Religions phenomenon's and that thus intrinsic satisfaction of human beings can only be resolved through this method. He defends that in order to achieve world-peace, Islam should enhance its influence and effectiveness again, and adds that societies degenerated by distorted Western values can only regain their real and actual values through this way. Although a process of artificial social disintegration and violence is taking place in some parts of the Muslim world, Kutup claims that the solution lies in a real Islamic society and that this can be achieved by returning to the true essence of Islam. The systems conducted by free-divine sources cause social crisis. The belief in one single Almighty God must be placed in people's hearts properly to establish a developed Islam society. Based on this belief, social structures and systems should be based upon one divine source. Finally, the value that Islam places on human beings can find a chance to make itself visible in social life, and an opportunity to set grounds for the salvation of mankind.
