Abstract (EN)

In this study, the children's novels of Seza Kutlar Aksoy were investigated in terms of universal and social values that they contain. In the research; subproblems, assumptions, the importance of the thesis, the aim of the thesis in the context of the problem situation; some research related to the subject were included so the conceptual framework of the study was formed. Around the questions like '' What is the educational value of Seza Kutlar Aksoy's works within the scope of values education?'' , '' Which values did Seza Kutlar Aksoy include in her works and how did she do it?'', '' What are the behaviours that Seza Kutlar Aksoy's work gain to the child?'', the works that the writer wrote for the children were investigated being based on the document examination from qualitative research approaches. After the values in the works were determined by content analysis method, they were classified and analyzed by the researcher. It was drawn the attention to the importance of values within the works in terms of values education and reflection to the behavior. In works that were investigated in the the scope of this study, it was identified that 25 values were handled in different plots. As a conclusion, it was determined that Aksoy's works are rich samples for achieving an awareness about social and universal values and developing a positive attitude in the reader in this way. For that purpose, these works in the field of children's literature are thought that it will be right for used in values education with the thought that they develop character values.
