Examination of the common themes in the poems of Sezai Karakoç and Nurullah Genç

This study aims to examine the themes related to religion, sufism and humanity contained in the poems of Sezai Karakoc and Nurullah Genç, who are important poets of Turkish literature. The works of these two poets, who have made important contributions to the spiritual quest of the individual in the modern era, deal with individual and social inquiries in depth. Within the scope of the study, Sezai Karakoc's poetry book "Before Sunrise" and Nurullah Genç's poetry book "Private and Reclusive" were examined; the reflections of religious and sufi elements in these works were revealed in detail. The study focuses on how the spiritual depth in the poems of poets offers guidance for individuals seeking solutions to the existential problems of the modern world. The thesis consists of two main parts. In the first part, the religious and sufi themes in the poems of Sezai Karakoc and Nurullah Genç were examined; the reflection forms of religious concepts such as "Allah Almighty", "The Prophet" and "The Hereafter" were analyzed and the influence of sufi concepts and personalities were discussed. In the second part, the themes related to man and the world are discussed in the poems of the poets. Concepts such as "self", "love", "death" and "mother" have been examined in detail, with emphasis on the individual and social states of man; topics such as "time", "nature" and "cosmic elements" have been included within the framework of the themes of the realm. These reviews offer an in-depth analysis of the understanding of the philosophy of existence in poetry.
