Bibliometric analysis of studies on cybercrime between 2000-2023

Abstract (EN)

The increasing use of internet-based technologies and computer networks, which are growing and developing daily, have brought about some problems. As a result, a new type of crime called cybercrime has emerged. There have been various research and studies on cybercrime. In this article, a bibliometric analysis of the studies on the keywords "Cyber Crimes", "Internet Crimes", and "Computer Crimes" indexed in Web of Science between 2000- 2023 is presented. This study aims to reveal the scientific map of the field by examining the research and studies on cybercrime, to make sense of the data and to be a source for future studies on this subject. Bibliometrix and Microsoft Excel programs were used for bibliometric analysis. 5590 different authors and 2566 studies were identified for the study. Jaishankar K. was the most prolific writer, with 21 articles. University College Dublin was the top-publishing university with 56 articles. IEEE Access was the journal that produced the most publications, with 151 articles. The most cited work was Stuxnet and the Future of Cyber Warfare by Farwell, JP, and Rohozinski, R. In the study, bibliometric analysis and results have included in terms of the most influential countries, the most productive authors, the most publishing journals, organizations, countries and keywords related to cybercrime worldwide. Relations and collaborations between countries and authors in studies on cybercrime have been presented with visuals.
