Abstract (EN)
Significant changes and developments occurred in the Ottoman bureaucracy both during the Mahmud II period and the Tanzimat period. As a result of these changes in the bureaucracy, the number of civil servants increased. The increase in the number of civil servants led to some difficulties in supervision. In order to eliminate this situation, the Sicill-i Ahvâl Commission was established during the reign of Abdülhamid II and the Sicill-i Ahvâl Books were started to be kept within this commission. It is possible to learn the names, nicknames, fathers' names and professions, the clan they belonged to, their education, the foreign languages they knew, the dates of their entry into the civil service, the positions they held, the amount of their salaries, the medals or penalties they received through the Sicill-i Ahvâl Books. In this study, we have tried to introduce the civil servants from Taşköprülü who served in the Ottoman bureaucracy. Keywords: Ottoman State, Taşköprü, Salary, Biography, Sicill-i Ahvâl Notebooks.
