Pharmacognostıcal researches on Sideritis montana subsp. montana ve Sideritis montana subsp. remota

In this study, the phytochemical analysis of extracts prepared from the aboveground parts of Sideritis montana subsp. montana (Lamiaceae) collected from the forest in Çorum Yeşilgöl and Sideritis montana subsp. remota (Lamiaceae) collected from the roadside in Kütahya Dumlupınar was conducted. The extracts were prepared using a solvent, and the analysis included determination of the total phenolic content as well as antimicrobial and antioxidant activities. The antioxidant activity was tested through DPPH• and ABTS•+ radical scavenging effects. The aboveground parts of the plant were subjected to water distillation using a Clevenger apparatus for three hours to obtain the essential oil, and the components of the oil were determined using Gas Chromatography and Gas Chromatography/Mass Spectrometry. The polar extract contents were analyzed using High-Performance Liquid Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry/Mass Spectrometry.
