Abstract (EN)

In this study, It was aimed that determination of protective and reparative effects of Helixor which is commercial version of Silibinin?s and Viscum albüm?s active substances of Silybum marianum, against DNA damage occuring cause of oxidative stress. For this purpose, haploid Saccharomyces cerevisiae BY4741 (MATa his 3?1 leu2 ?0 met15?0 ura3?0) was used. Protective and reparative induction effects of used active substances detarmined by using alkaline single cell gel electrophoresis method. 1?g/mL and 10 ?g/mL concentrations were applied to Silibinin ve Helixor, S. cerevisiae cells. Our results shows that, against to the DNA damage generated by H2O2 Silibinin and Helixor protect the ferment cells. As a result of the application, in both of active sunstances? 10 ?g/mL concentrations determined that shows protective effect on cell. It was found that 10 ?g/mL concentration of Silibinin increases the DNA repaire induction. Anahtar kalimeler: Oksidatif DNA hasarı, comet assay, Saccharomyces cerevisiae, Silibinin, Helixor
