Özet (EN)
In the last 15 years, a new technology, together with the machinery which were used previously for chassical road constructions, has been used in the construction of some small or/and medium sized concrete gravity dams and airports in the developed countries. This new technology is called Roller Compacted Concrete (RCC) Technology. Application of this new technology in our country as well as in the other countries is suposed to lower the construction costs and shorten the construction periods. In the early 1980's, mainly in the USA and some other countries, it was decided to construct dams by aplying Roller Compacted Concrete (RCC) Technology. In our country, it was used primarily in the construction of KARA YAKA, ATATÜRK and SIR DAMS. By the application of Roller Compacted Concrete (RCC) Technology, a lot of engineering projects were accomplished in very short periods, and economical benefits were obtained as far as similar projects were concerned. The problems faced in the application are common to the concrete technology. These problems can be minimized by employing qualified and experienced staff. It is obvious that the application of this technology in a country especially having large water resources potentially like Turkey will be useful.
